1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Genel Denizcilik Nakliyatı ve Ticaret A.Ş. (“GEDEN”, “we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on geden.com (the “Site”).
GEDEN is the data controller (veri sorumlusu) for personal data collected through cookies on the Site. Our registered address is Büyükdere Cad. Yapı Kredi Plaza A Blok Kat:12, Levent 34330, Beşiktaş, İstanbul, Türkiye.
This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally and what rights you have.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit it. They let the site recognise your device and remember information, such as your consent choices.
- First-party cookies are set by geden.com.
- Third-party cookies are set by other services that we use on the Site, such as Google or Cloudflare.
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay on your device until they expire or you delete them.
In this policy, “cookies” also covers similar technologies such as browser local storage and session storage, which work in a similar way.
3. How we use cookies
We use cookies to keep the Site secure, to protect our forms from spam, to remember your cookie choices and to make the Site work properly. We do not use cookies to show you advertising or to build a marketing profile of you.
We rely on these legal bases under Turkey’s Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 (“KVKK”) and, for visitors in the European Economic Area and the UK, the GDPR and applicable ePrivacy rules:
- Strictly necessary cookies are placed on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website. These do not require your consent.
- All other cookies are placed only with your explicit consent, which you give or refuse through our cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Section 7).

6. Third-party services
Some cookies on the Site are set by other companies. They are responsible for their own cookies, and their privacy policies explain how they use the data.

Our LinkedIn icon is a plain link. LinkedIn does not set cookies on geden.com, but its own privacy policy applies if you click through to its site.
Some of these providers are based outside Türkiye, so using them may involve transferring data abroad. Section 6 of our Privacy Policy explains how we protect these transfers.
7. Managing your cookie preferences
You can accept, refuse or customise non-essential cookies whenever you like.
- Cookie banner. On your first visit, choose Accept All, Deny or Customize. To change your choice later, click the round cookie settings button in the bottom-right corner of any page, or delete the cookiez-user-consent cookie in your browser and reload the page.
- Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. See the help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.
- Local and session storage. Clearing your browser’s “site data” for geden.com also removes the local storage items listed in Section 5.
If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Site may not work. For example, you may not be able to send the contact or job application forms.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove cookies, or when the law changes. We will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top. If we make a significant change, such as adding analytics or marketing cookies, we will ask for your consent again through the cookie banner.
